Embark on our pilgrimage with an overnight flight(s) from LAX to Rome. Enjoy meals and refreshments served on the plane.
Upon arrival in Rome, we will gather our bags and meet our tour manager. Check-in at our hotel in Rome and settle in. Later, we will take a “get yourself acquainted” bus tour of the eternal city before enjoying a welcome dinner for our pilgrimage in the evening. Dinner & overnight in Rome.
After breakfast, we will visit the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, the Church of St. Mary Major, and the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran. Here, we will have the opportunity to climb the Lateran Steps and attend Mass. After a short lunch break, we will travel to the Pontifical North American College for a private tour, offering stunning views of Rome. Dinner & overnight in Rome.
In the morning, we will head to Saint Peter’s Square for the Papal general audience with Pope Francis (subject to the Pope’s schedule). Afterward, we will have a private Mass nearby. Following a brief lunch break, we’ll embark on a tour of the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica. Dinner & overnight in Rome.
After breakfast we transfer to Rome (FCO) airport and board our flight to Lyon, France. Upon arrival in Lyon our first stop will be just north of the city at Ars-sur-Formans to visit the Basilica of Ars, where we can pray before the incorrupt body of St. John Vianney, the patron saint of clergy. We will journey further north tom Paray-le-Monial, where we will visit the Basilica of the Sacred Heart and admire its Romanesque art and architecture. This Basilica is where St. Margaret Mary Alacoque received the four Visions and messages of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Dinner & overnight in Paray-le-Monial.
We will begin the day with a short journey to Nevers, where we will have Mass and visit the Convent of St. Gildard. There, we will have a moment of prayer while viewing St. Bernadette’s incorrupt body. The town itself offers narrow cobblestone streets, old churches, and a riverside promenade for us to explore. This afternoon, we will make our way to Paris. Dinner & overnight in Paris.
Today our tour escort will give us an overview of the City of Light, where we’ll see the Champs Élysées, the Seine River, Les Invalides, and the Eiffel Tower. We will visit The Basilica of Sacré-Cœur and the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal on the Rue de Bac and have Mass. Our Lady appeared to St. Catherine Labouré and asked her to have a medal made with the inscription, “O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.” Dinner and overnight in Paris.
With a renewed sense of pilgrimage and an invigorated love of our Catholic faith, we will transfer to Paris (CDG) and board our plane for our flight home.
