Our pilgrimage begins as we depart from the USA and begin our journey to Cairo.
We arrive in Cairo today and meet our Canterbury tour director. In the afternoon, we will visit the Catholic Relief Services in Cairo to learn about their charitable work in the region.
Overnight in Cairo
We will embark on a tour of some of Egypt’s most iconic sites, starting with the Pyramids of Giza and the enigmatic Sphinx. We will also visit the ancient city of Memphis and explore the Saqqara Necropolis, reflecting on the historical and spiritual significance of these ancient sites.
Overnight in Cairo
Our day in Cairo will be dedicated to exploring the spiritual and historical treasures of the city. We will visit the Cairo Citadel, the Civilization Museum, Old Cairo, and the Coptic Museum, deepening our understanding of Egypt’s rich history and Christian heritage.
Overnight Cairo
We will visit the world-renowned Egyptian Museum, where we can witness the wonders of ancient Egypt and reflect on the rich cultural heritage. In the afternoon, we will experience the vibrant atmosphere of Khan El Khalili, engaging in mindful shopping and supporting local artisans. Finally, we will embark on a spiritual journey along El Moez Street, appreciating the historic landmarks and architecture.
Overnight in Cairo
We will embark on an overnight trip to Alexandria, where we will visit the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and the Qaitbay Citadel, connecting with the Christian history and intellectual legacy of the city.
Overnight in Alexandria
We will take a flight to Luxor and embark on a Nile cruise. In Luxor, we will visit the Karnak Temple Complex and the Luxor Temple, reflecting on the ancient Egyptian religious traditions and their parallels with our faith.
Overnight aboard cruise
Our day will be dedicated to exploring the sacred sites in the Valley of the Kings, where we will reflect on the transience of earthly power and the promise of eternal life. We will also visit the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, drawing inspiration from the pharaoh’s story.

Continuing our Nile cruise, we will visit the Temple of Edfu, dedicated to the falcon god Horus, and the Temple of Kom Ombo, reflecting on the coexistence of different spiritual traditions and finding unity in our shared faith.

We will embark on a trip to Abu Simbel, witnessing the magnificent temples and contemplating the unwavering faith that inspired their creation.

Returning to Aswan, we will visit the High Dam, appreciating the engineering accomplishments. We will also explore the Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, reflecting on the enduring nature of faith.
Overnight in Cairo
We will have a day of leisure in Cairo, attending Mass at a local church. In the evening, a farewell dinner will be arranged to celebrate our transformative pilgrimage experience.

Our pilgrimage ends today as we depart Cairo, carrying the lessons, memories, and spiritual growth we have gained throughout our Catholic pilgrimage in Egypt.
