July 6 Our overnight flight departs for Lourdes from Phoenix Airport.
July 7 Morning arrival at Charles DeGaulle Airport then transfer to our flight to Lourdes. This afternoon, we will visit the Grotto of Massabielle where the healing waters flow. Evening candlelight procession. Overnight in Lourdes
July 8 We’ll begin our Day with mass at the Shrine, we’ll have a guided tour of St. Bernadette’s home, the basilica, and her environs that will give us a deeper understanding of St. Bernadette’s life and her relationship with Mary, the Immaculate. This afternoon walk and pray in the Eucharistic Procession. Overnight in Lourdes
July 9 Following breakfast we board our plane to Paris, the City of Light. Upon arrival into Paris our tour escort will give us an overview of this City of Light, where we’ll see the Champs-Élysées, the Seine River, Les Invalides, and the Eiffel Tower. Before checking into the hotel, we will visit the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal on the Rue de Bac. Our Lady appeared to St. Catherine Labouré and asked her to have a medal made with the inscription, “O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee”. Overnight in Paris
July 10 We begin today with Mass at the Sacré-Coeur Basilica on top of Montmartre Hill, where there has been perpetual Eucharistic adoration for over a century. We then visit Saint Peter’s of Montmartre (where the Society of Jesus was formed), and the Cathedral of Notre Dame. We will enjoy lunch on our own, and finish out the afternoon with a visit to the Place de la Nation where the Carmelites of Compiegne were martyred. We’ll see Cimitiere Picpus where their remains are in a mass grave, followed by dinner and the remainder of the night at leisure. Overnight in Paris
July 11 After breakfast, we will travel northwest for an excursion to Lisieux. We’ll visit the home and Carmelite Monastery of St. Thérèse, the “Little Flower.” Our spiritual director will celebrate Mass for us at the Basilica of St. Thérèse of Lisieux. We return to Paris in the afternoon to visit the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris. Tonight we gather for our farewell dinner. Overnight in Paris.
July 12 This morning is spent at our own leisure. Our tour manager will provide us with recommendations on sites to visit, as well as cafes and restaurants to dine at. Following Lunch, we depart by plane for Rome. Hotel check-in and dinner. Overnight Rome.
July 13 Today we travel back in time with a historic tour of Ancient Rome. Making our way along centuries-old cobblestone streets lined with Rome’s stately stone pines, we arrive at the triumphal Arch of Constantine, built in 315 AD after Constantine’s victory over Maxentius. Under one hundred feet away stands Ancient Rome’s monumental, the three-tiered Colosseum, an amphitheater once used for gladiatorial games. We continue to the Roman Forum, open grounds now surrounded by the ruins of the ancient government buildings at the center of Ancient Rome. Overnight in Rome.
July 14 Today we journey to the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, the Church of St. Peter in Chains, and the Basilica of St. John Lateran. Following lunch, we visit the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, and the Piazza Navona. Overnight Rome
July 15 A day at the Vatican: After breakfast, we’re off to Saint Peter’s Square for the Papal general audience with Pope Francis (subject to the Pope’s schedule). Following a short lunch break, we’ll tour the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica. We gather tonight for our Farewell Dinner. Overnight in Rome.
July 16 Departure & return home: With a renewed sense of pilgrimage, and an invigorated love of our Catholic faith, we transfer to the Rome Fiumicino Airport, say farewell to our fellow pilgrims and new friends, and board our return flight home.
