Upon arrival in Rome, we will gather our bags and meet with our Canterbury tour manager. Check-in at our hotel in Rome and settle in. Later, there will be an optional “get yourself acquainted” bus tour of the eternal city (subject to our arrival time) before enjoying a welcome dinner for our pilgrimage in the evening.
Dinner included today | Overnight in Rome, Italy
In the morning, we head to Saint Peter’s Square for the Papal general audience with Pope Francis (subject to his schedule). Afterward, we will have a private Mass nearby. Following a brief lunch, we tour the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica, marveling at the incredible art and history. Today we will be able to walk through the Holy Door at St. Peters Basilica.

Today is dedicated to the Major Basilicas. We will start at the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls and visit the burial site of St. Paul, next we’re off to the Church of St. Mary Major where pilgrims can view what is said to be the wood relics of the Holy Crib of the Nativity of Jesus. And finally, we visit the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran, the “Mother of all Churches in the World,” and the cathedral of the Diocese of Rome. Here, we will celebrate Mass and have the opportunity to climb the Lateran Steps. We will be able to visit the Holy Doors at each Basilica. Before we return to our hotel we will stop and visit the Trevi Fountain.

After breakfast, we depart Rome and head to Assisi. We’ll start our day with Mass and a tour at the Basilica di San Francesco d’Assisi. After lunch, we will proceed to the Basilica di Santa Chiara to see the Saint’s body and pray for her intercession in front of the San Damiano Cross. St. Clare was the foundress of the Order of Poor Clare’s. Next, we will visit the Cathedral of San Ruffino, Chiesa Nuova and San Damiano, where Saint Clare built her community. We will also visit Santuario della Spogliazione, to view the tomb of Blessed Carlo Acutis, the first millennial to be declared Blessed.

Today we board our bus and head out on a day trip to the Marian Shrine in Loreto, the Basilica della Santa
Casa. Within its walls, we encounter the beautiful Madonna of Loreto and the Holy House of Nazareth.
Tradition holds that this modest house is where “The Word Became Flesh,” where Mary spent her early years, and where she received the visitation of the angel Gabriel. It is also believed to be the place, where Jesus was raised, and where the Holy Family lived. Later in the day, we’ll head back to Assisi for dinner and an overnight.

After breakfast we will drive to Loppiano, the first international citadel of the Focolare Movement. Here we will spend the whole day. We will visit the Shrine of Mary Theotokos and Celebrate Mass, participate in workshops, and meet the locals and other international travelers. In the evening, we will return to Florence.
Breakfast & Dinner | Overnight in Florence, Italy
Today we will enjoy tours that will include the magnificent Franciscan church of The Holy Cross or Santa Croce with its beautiful facade. Walking tour through Piazza Signoria, pass by Palazzo Vecchio, and Ponte Vecchio.
