Day 1: Monday, February 12, 2024Depart USA

Embark on an overnight flight from the USA to Rome, Italy.

Day 2: Tuesday, February 13, 2024Arrival in Rome, Italy

On arrival into Rome Airport we’ll be greeted by our Canterbury tour director. Begin your pilgrimage by visiting the awe-inspiring Basilica di Sant’Andrea della Valle, followed by Largo Argentina, Chiesa del Gesù, 12 Apostoli, Piazza della Pilota (Gregorian University), Fontana di Trevi, and Palazzo del Quirinale, which serves as the former residence of the Pope.

Day 3: Wednesday, February 14, 2024Papal Audience, Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, Castel Sant'Angelo

Attend the Papal Audience and delve into the spiritual wonders of the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. Explore the sacred Chiesa Nuova and make your way across the magnificent Ponte Sant’Angelo to Castel Sant’Angelo. Stroll along Via della Conciliazione and pay respects at the Tomb of John Paul II, Benedict XVI, and John XXII.

Day 4: Thursday, February 15, 2024Explore Rome

Immerse yourself in the cultural tapestry of Rome as you discover the enchanting Piazza del Popolo, walk along Via del Corso, and visit the historic Chiesa San Giacomo in Augusta and Chiesa Sant’Atanasio dei Greci. Continue your pilgrimage to Piazza Spagna, ascend the Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti, marvel at the Column of the Immaculate Conception, and explore the sacred spaces of Basilica Sant’Andrea delle Frate, San Silvestro in Capite, Santa Maria in Via, and Piazza Barberini. Conclude the day by visiting the Museo e Cripta e basilica of the Capuchin Friars, Chiesa Santa Maria della Vittoria, Fontana del Mose, and Chiesa di Santa Susanna alle Terme, known as the Church of the Americans in Rome. 

Day 5: Friday, February 16, 2024Ghetto, Hebrew Museum, Portico d'Ottavia, Isola Tiberina, Church of Saint Crisogono, Museo di Roma

Embark on a spiritual journey through Rome’s Jewish heritage as you explore the Ghetto, the Hebrew Museum, and Synagogue. Delve into history at the Portico d’Ottavia and discover the serene beauty of Isola Tiberina. Pay homage at the Basilica di San Bartholomew, San Benedetto in Piscinula, Church of Saint Crisogono, and Santa Maria in Trastevere. Day 6: Saturday, February 17, 2024Sant'Andrea della Valle, Palazzo della Cancelleria, Piazza Navona, Basilica di Sant'Agnese, Basilica of Saint Augustine

Resume your spiritual exploration at Sant’Andrea della Valle before immersing yourself in the vibrant ambiance of Campo dei Fiori. Admire the architectural wonders of Palazzo della Cancelleria and Basilica di San Lorenzo in Damaso. Experience the grandeur of Piazza Navona and pay your respects at Basilica di Sant’Agnese and Basilica of Saint Augustine. Continue your journey at San Luigi dei Francesi, Piazza della Rotonda, the iconic Pantheon, and Piazza Capranica. Commence the day’s journey with a visit to the Basilica di San Lorenzo fuori le Mura, followed by a reflective exploration of the Cimitero Monumentale Campo Verano and the Catacombe di San Sebastiano. Embark on a pilgrimage to Apia Antica and marvel at the Basilica di San Paolo fuori le Mura. Conclude the day with a visit to the Abbazia delle Tre Fontane and Chiesa di San Martino. 

Day 9: Tuesday, February 20, 2024Assisi, Basilica di San Francesco, Piazza del Comune, Temple of Minerva, Chiesa San Rufino, Eremita Carceri

Depart for Assisi and immerse yourself in the spiritual ambiance of the Basilica di San Francesco. Traverse the quaint streets of Via San Francesco and experience the vibrant atmosphere of Piazza del Comune. Discover the historic Temple of Minerva and visit the serene Chiesa San Rufino. Experience tranquility at the Eremita Carceri and explore the sacred Basilica Santa Clara and Santa Maria degli Angeli before returning to Rome. 

Day 10: Wednesday, February 21, 2024Pompei, Abbey of Monte Casino, Basilica di Santa Maria Asunta

Embark on a memorable journey to Pompei, starting with a visit to the Abbey of Monte Casino. Explore the captivating Pompei Archaeological Zone and be captivated by the Basilica di Santa Maria Asunta before returning to Rome. 

Day 11: Thursday, February 22, 2024Church of Ara Coeli, Teatro Marcello, Church of St. Nicola, Tempio di Ercole, Bocca Della Verità, Circo Massimo

Discover the spiritual treasures of Rome’s historic landmarks, starting with the Church of Ara Coeli and the grandeur of Teatro Marcello. Continue your pilgrimage at the Church of St. Nicola in Carcere and the Tempio di Ercole, followed by visits to Santa Maria in Cosmedin and Bocca della Verità. Delve into the ancient history of Circo Massimo and find solace in the serene Giardino degli Aranci.
